Shortly after the first email was sent on the Internet someone probably accidentally deleted it. This tongue in cheek example is extremely exaggerated but certainly no file type is more often lost than an email. Emails like most lost files go missing primarily to human error. Often we think we no longer need a message, delete and just seconds later remember we need part of the letter. We then panic racking our brains as to how we will rescue the files. Still, a great portion of lost emails are removed by computer error as well. Web based email systems such as Yahoo mail or Gmail can lose an email just as quickly as you or I can. And email clients such as Microsoft Outlook are noted for their ability to gobble up hundreds on message files at a time. In fact Outlook is known for its habit of having its entire inbox become corrupted.
